Zeno was elected Bishop of Verona around 362. Legend praises his care for the poor and sick. Zeno earned his living by catching fish from the Adige River. St. Corbinian of Freising was among the first devotees of Zeno in our country. Zeno is depicted as a bishop in pontifical robes, holding a book and a staff. He also holds a fishing rod and two fish (unlike St. Ulrich, who is usually depicted with only one fish). He is invoked for protection against floods and general dangers posed by water.

The parish church of St. George, with its turret and onion dome, was built by Anton Kogler, master mason of Erding, in 1710. Kogler erected numerous Baroque buildings in the Erding district in the 18th century. The branch church replaced a Gothic church that was demolished in 1710 due to dilapidation. Pretzen residents demanded a church, which forced Kogler to quickly construct a new building. Due to time constraints, the master mason of Erding did not use his own plans for the new building, but rather existing records from the Holy Cross Church in Forstinning. Pretzen's parish church of St. George therefore has a cloverleaf-shaped floor plan with two transverse arms and is considered a gem in the Erding district. The collegiate and parish church of St. Zeno is a little gem. Originally Romanesque, it was later remodeled in the Baroque style. It's worth a stop on any bike tour, as there are many beautiful little details to discover.

By artist Harry S. The sculpture is intended to commemorate the Erding legend. After the construction of the nave, the people of Erding ran out of money, preventing the church tower from being erected. They attempted to push the town tower over to the church. Today, the town tower on Schrannenplatz, next to St. Johann's Church, still serves as a bell tower. The sculpture is connected to a fountain; the arch of water is intended to represent a gate, indicating that Erding was entered through a city gate. The sculpture group was inaugurated in 2013. There is also a second interpretation: the three figures—father, mother, and child—are trying to move the immovable water. Symbolizing "tackling the impossible."
