The area surrounding the Hotel Genueser Schiff has been in the family for generations. However, it was only after the embankments following the devastating storm surge of 1872 that the former hunting grounds became a building site. However, it would be some time before the hotel was built. The Hotel Genueser Schiff is as individual as the people who choose to stay there, whether they are looking for just one night or a longer stay. These are people who place little value on uniformity. And certainly not on constraints. Instead, they prefer understated elegance and serenity in a relaxed atmosphere. The Countess took the hotel's name from the first verse of Friedrich Nietzsche's poem "To New Seas." When her son, Philipp Brandt, took over the hotel, he added the second verse to this motto.
