The canoe launch site on the Kleiner Plöner See (Little Plön Lake) offers direct access to the water and is an ideal starting point for paddling trips. Its location on the outskirts of Plön allows for easy access, while a free parking lot at the edge of Ascheberg provides ample space, even for trailers. The tranquil surroundings and natural setting make the launch site perfect for water sports. Especially in the early morning hours, when the lake is still shrouded in mist, the atmosphere is captivating.

Plön's landmark, visible from afar from all approaches by land and water, was built during the Thirty Years' War between 1633 and 1636. Duke Joachim Ernst of Plön had a brick castle erected on the site of the old, now obsolete, castle. It received its white paint in the 18th century under the Danish King Christian VIII.
