A fantastic cycling and hiking trail runs along here, amidst beautiful scenery. We hiked along this route in February, surrounded by stunning nature, and it was wonderful. Highly recommended.

The historic lighthouse can be visited in the two summer months of July and August. Between 10am - 6pm. It's worth a visit. Inside there are vivid pictures of the lighthouse during times of operation, as well as the interim decay and rescue or restoration. Lighthouse season from June 26th to September 5th, 2021 Opening times from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Closed on Fridays and Mondays. Admission is free. The association would be happy about a small donation. Please only wear a mouth and nose mask in the tower and disinfect your hands on site.

Unfortunately access to it is blocked and you can't even get to the lighthouse, but it's still impressive. From the dike you have an impressive view of the historic Balzer lighthouse and the top light of the Balje directional light line. The old Balje lighthouse was in operation from 1904 to 1980. A support association has been taking care of this maritime monument since 2005. A visit is also possible. You can already see Brunsbüttel and Neufeld on the other side.
