Im Kloster Hassel, einem Landschaftsraum von mehreren Hektar Größe, entwickelt sich die klösterliche Einrichtung. Kern der Anlage sind die Fachwerkhäuser und Gebäude des kleinen Dorfes Hassel, dessen Anfänge - laut historischem Material - im Mittelalter (16. Jh.) zu finden sind. Das kleine alte Dorf hat sich in eine klösterliche Einsiedelei entwickelt. Abgeschieden, idyllisch am Berghang einer Lichtung gewachsen, kilometerweit nach allen Seiten von Wiesen und Wald umgeben und nur über Forstwege zu erreichen, bietet es die idealen Bedingungen für ein zurückgezogenes Ordensleben, stilles Üben und innere Einkehr. Bei der Sanierung der Gebäude und des Klosterdorfes wurde auf baubiologische, ökologische und allergikergerechte Bauweise und Einrichtung Wert gelegt.
