The baroque castle gate of Horneck Castle was built around 1730 and is a true showpiece: It depicts allegorical figures such as Bravery and Christian Love, flanked by the coat of arms of the Grand Teutonic Master Franz Ludwig of the Palatinate, held by two lions.

The old town is characterized by lovingly restored half-timbered houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, nestled along Schloßstraße and in the winding alleys. Many of these buildings are listed buildings and tell the story of the city's long history – from the Teutonic Order to today's wine-growing culture.

The collection originally began as a so-called “local history room” in the 1960s.

From Gundelsheim there is a beautiful view of Guttenberg Castle, which towers above the town of Neckarmühlbach on the opposite bank of the Neckar.

🏛️ The Old Town Hall was in use from 1541 to 1860 and is one of the most beautiful half-timbered buildings in the old town. Götz von Berlichingen was appointed field captain in the Peasants' War here in 1525 – a place steeped in history!
