The city consists of the three districts Bad Wimpfen am Berg, Bad Wimpfen im Tal and Hohenstadt. While Hohenstadt is dominated by agriculture, in Bad Wimpfen in the valley the focus is on industry and commerce. The Knight's Abbey Church with Bad Wimpfen Monastery is located in the listed town in the valley. Bad Wimpfen am Berg, with the Hohenstaufen imperial palace and the historic old town, is a popular day trip and holiday destination.
