It was built in the 17th century by the Counts of Löwenstein and was originally surrounded by a wide moat. Today it is known as the romantic "Teusser Castle" and is owned by the Teusser Mineral Spring company.

The Teusserbad chapel near Löwenstein was built around 1730 at the healing Teusser spring and served as a place of worship for spa guests. Later, it was even used as a brewery for a time before reverting to its original function.

The "Lautereck Water Castle," historically known as the Teusserschlößchen (little Teuss Castle), sits enthroned in the middle of a lake fed by the Teusser spring and is surrounded by forest landscapes. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when it was part of the renowned spa and even offered guest rooms and warm baths.

The "Stairway to Heaven" runs along the path connecting the Silver Tunnel to the Wellingtonia trees. Its 66 steps were carved from a Douglas fir tree trunk. The view of the staircase is particularly impressive from below.

In the forests of Wüstenrot and neighboring Löwenstein, Wellingtonia trees over 100 years old grow. These giant sequoias were the seeds of which King Wilhelm II acquired in America in 1865 to plant in the Wilhelma Garden in Bad Cannstatt. Since there were too many seedlings (4,000), they were sold to municipalities and private individuals. This is why, today, parks and gardens boast specimens of this giant over 135 years old.

It consists of 66 steps carved out of the trunk of a Douglas fir. This natural staircase leads you from the Pfaffenklinge to the Silberstollen and further to the Wellingtonias. Especially in winter, when the staircase is covered in a layer of snow, it becomes a real "ladder to heaven" - but caution is advised as it can be very slippery.
