The path along the Zschopau River between Hennersdorf and Witzschdorf is known as the "Wasserrand" (waterside path). It was created around 1900 for tourism, as a destination for day trips and swimming, and the innkeeper from Witzschdorf would come down with his tray of wares. The last section between the weir and Witzschdorf is now closed due to its proximity to the railway line.

In 1872, the sewing thread factory AG built five houses for factory workers. These are across the upper end of the forest road (Alter Hahn). In 1900 another six buildings followed along the Waldstrasse.
