    Very nice promenade at the Tegeler Hafen, where the excursion boats are, with numerous waterfowl, which like to approach the visitors, especially in winter. The lake pavilion, where you can watch the sunset, is also nice.

      There used to be a lot more landing stages at this place, one after the other.
      In GDR times there was a partnership between Reinickendorf and Greenwich, hence the name Greenwichpromenade.

      The West Berlin districts were 'enclosed' by the GDR, so a partnership with western countries was expedient.

                                          The atmosphere here is probably unique in Berlin. There is a large green area with lots of benches adjacent to the lake. Everywhere on Lake Tegel is beautiful, but this is the perfect place to relax. You can doze, dream and enjoy a certain contemplation, stroll along the lake, watch the wild geese, ducks and rails and of course take a wonderful boat trip!

                                            The Greenwichpromenade steamer pier on Lake Tegel is located in the north of Berlin in the Tegel district.                                               A place where Berlin wears its Sunday best without showing off. The old trees stand in rows like veterans of the city's peace, beneath them benches where life rests. In summer, the air shimmers, in winter, frost lies on the pavement, and above everything, the view rests on the Havel River – broad, tranquil, almost like a promise.

                                              The excursion boats rock along the quay like dreaming animals. "Havel Queen" is written on one of the ships, as if someone had briefly forgotten that we're not on the Mississippi, but in Tegel. No matter. Here, all of that is allowed. The geese on the quay wall don't look strange, but they don't judge either. They're simply there, just like us.

                                              And if you're completely quiet, you might hear it: the soft clack of old walking sticks on the pavement. The footsteps of people who strolled here decades ago. Or just your own thoughts, which in this place, between the bridge and the water, can breathe again for the first time in a long time.
