The Carolinum Gymnasium in Neustrelitz on Lake Glambeck is one of the largest grammar schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, with approximately 1,100 students and approximately 90 teachers. At the initiative of Finance Minister Roderich Hustaedt, a former Caroliner, the government and state parliament of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz decided in 1922 to build a new school building on Lake Glambeck. Construction began one year later according to plans by architect Paul Schondorf. In 1925, the completed building was occupied by the humanistic grammar school (310 students) and the secondary school (300 students). The new name was now Carolinum, Gymnasium and Secondary School. After the founding of the GDR, the school was initially renamed Max Planck High School, then Clara Zetkin High School in 1951, and later EOS Clara Zetkin. The Glambecker See is also affectionately called "Glammi" by the locals, and you can walk around it.

It is currently being renovated after water damage, but I think soon people will be able to play sports there again or watch them.

The lake can easily be integrated into a city circuit; there is a viewing platform with a view over the lake and the large high school.

Beautiful view of the lake. A walk around the lake is worthwhile, good paths, completely problem-free and always along the water. There are many places to rest on benches. On the side on the EAST BANK there is also a large lawn on the slope. Concrete benches have been set into the slope in a kind of terrace, which are great for sitting on and have a good view of the lake. I therefore recommend this side of the bank for a rest on the tour.
