The Uckermark town of Lychen is a state-approved resort in the middle of the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park in the Uckermark district in northern Brandenburg. At the same time, the mill owner Paul Scherz had the spring flowing into the Wurlsee surrounded. He gave it the name “Ilsenquelle”. At that time the spring was a popular place where young girls went to get Easter water. After washing with the spring water on Easter morning, they hoped to find the right person for a covenant of life the following year.
