View over the Störmthaler Lake to Mount Cröbern

A tour boat goes over to Vineta. In the interior you get a lively and very interesting story about the creation of the Vineta. By the way, you can also get married here in a civil ceremony.

The place that is probably most associated with Lake Störmthal is the VINETA on the lake, which is why this attraction is actually a must for every visitor to the lake. It is a floating building (at 15 m it is actually the highest floating building on a German lake!) that is intended to commemorate the places that had to give way to open-cast brown coal mining. The "floating church" is a very special location where you can even get married.

The Störmthaler See, south of the Markkleeberger See, was completely flooded after 10 years (since 2012). It was created from a remaining open pit (deepest point 50 meters). The circumnavigation 23 km offers a very beautiful landscape, natural. Small bathing bays with its turquoise water offer pure relaxation. A trip by ship or ferry takes about 1 hour and costs 12 euros with a guided tour to the Vineta. Weddings and celebrations take place on this floating building (built in the style of a church and attached to 4 chains at a depth of 30 meters). Can also be rented. The ferry service is every hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gastronomy is plentiful and of a pleasant quality.
