A bench offers a view of the first hills of the Northern Black Forest. In the valley below, the Enz River winds its way through the landscape. Opposite lies the hilltop district of Waldrennach, recognizable by its distinctive water tower. The path continues to the nearby Waldenburg castle.

The four of us had an absolutely fantastic meal there. Both the fish and meat dishes were cooked to perfection. The starters and desserts were also very tasty. All Demeter-certified. It's not exactly cheap, but it was incredibly good.

Always nice and it brings a bit of variety to the path.

The path along the Enz is easy to walk and still fun.

A footpath has formed here and a large, flat, moss-covered stone and a fallen tree trunk invite you to have a picnic with the sound of rushing whitewater in the background.

The sound of the Enz water is soothing and, for most of the time, drowns out the traffic noise on the B294. The Enz cycle path is well-frequented by (pedelec) cyclists, and it's recommended to walk on one side of the gravel path.
