With 75 hectares of vineyards, this wine-growing community boasts the largest contiguous Pinot Noir vineyard area in Germany🇩🇪. The red wine tradition in Assmannshausen dates back to the town's founding in 1108. Assmannshäuser Rote is particularly famous because the vines grow on sun-drenched, steep slopes directly above the Rhine, whose slate-rich soil produces a particularly elegant wine.
