The Bargerveen is the largest contiguous raised bog area in the Netherlands. More than 2,000 hectares remain of the once 3,000 km² Bourtanger Marsh. Here peat hills, peat moss, swamps, swamp forests and lakes form the landscape. The cycle path leads you nicely through this.
