After gravel extraction, the Giesen quarry lake was recultivated as a bathing and nature lake. The gently sloping beach and well-maintained lawns with sunny and shady areas are particularly convenient. Fishing is permitted only in the northern part, while diving is allowed within the southern bathing zone.

Rott Island is an idyllic recreational area in the floodplain of the Old Rhine near Linkenheim – ideal for walking, cycling, and observing nature. The island is surrounded by lakes and accessible via bridges. It features two restaurants: the traditional fish restaurant "Insel Rott" and the modern and stylish "Restaurant LETL," which also has a rear terrace overlooking the lake.

At the Herrenwasser lock, you can descend into the allotment garden complex “Three Oaks”.

A small branch of the Old Rhine, close to the lively Rhine promenade. Therefore, it's only semi-idyllic 😉. But beautiful 😀

Restaurant with a large outdoor area right next to the ferry and the Rhine promenade. Always very busy in good weather. Between the restaurant and the Rhine lies the Rhine promenade, which unfortunately is very busy here. The traffic jams caused by the many cars, motorcycles, and RVs searching for parking spaces significantly detract from the enjoyment of the Rhine.
