The application to build a new water tower was submitted in 1925, presumably due to fluctuations in pressure and supply, on behalf of the then owner Johannes Schwartz, general director of the German Mining Company in Berlin. Already A year later, the tower, built on an artificial hill in the southwestern edge of the Sallgast manor park, was completed. The supply pressure, which was achieved by a reinforced concrete elevated tank with an inner diameter of 6 m and a usable height of 8 m, was sufficient for the castle and the town of Sallgast. In the 1960s, a pressure boosting station was set up at the base of the tower to provide support. In the mid-1990s, both facilities were no longer needed, among other things due to new technical systems. In 2001, the Lausitz Water Association sold the water tower to the municipality of Sallgast. In 2002 the pressure boosting station became private property. The plastered solid building with sprinkles (boulders, brick) in the style of a medieval defensive tower with a curved hood has a hunting room and a room above the elevated tank, probably a utility room. They can be reached via an external staircase that leads perpendicular to the tower and is bordered on one side by a multi-stepped wall. In 2004, the roof and facade, windows and external stairs of the listed water tower were repaired

The vineyard near Bergen used to belong to the Fürstlich Drehna estate - hence the Drehnaer Weinberg. In the 18th century, wine was grown on the southern slope and terraces can still be seen. Today there is an orchard here. A picnic stand invites you to take a break.

Until the middle of the 19th century, wine was grown here and even down to today's Schlabendorfer Lake. However, it is said that it was quite sour and therefore not a success. Today you can take a break here on the picnic bench and perhaps enjoy a sip of grape juice you brought with you.

The Stiebsdorfer See was created from an opencast mining hole and is reminiscent of the village of the same name that was dredged in 1981. From the lookout point you can watch the spectacular return of nature.

In 2023, behind the F60 visitor mine, the road to the floating house and 2 parking spaces above the lake will be asphalted/paved (subject to a fee). Plots of land above the lake have been sold or can be bought, the first houses are standing, and my quiet 15 years at the lake are slowly coming to an end. Due to the usable width of the beach of more than 500m, all those looking for peace and quiet will find their place, sometimes it takes a few meters to walk. Except for the time of the Feel Festival, 2023 in mid-July, the area is accessible/driveable. Unfortunately, for a few, it becomes a racetrack, most drive sensibly - as it should be in a place of relaxation. Swimming is possible, on a few days a year there are strong winds and small pieces of coal on the beach. The PH value can still be felt as acidic on sensitive skin. Dogs are best at the north-west end of the beach (200m behind the floating house).
