From the Kybfelsen, you have impressive views over Freiburg, the Dreisamtal Valley, and, on a clear day, all the way to the Vosges Mountains. The rock lies above the Sternwald Forest and is a popular rest stop—perfect for a panoramic break or a sunset photo.

A real classic in the southern Black Forest. Among South Baden racing cyclists, the Kande is considered one of the toughest mountains in the southern Black Forest. At least the numbers bear that out. With 12 kilometers and an average gradient of 8.2%, the ascent from Waldkirch does not need to hide at all from legendary Alpine climbs such as Alpe d'Huez and is roughly in the same league.

Very sporty challenge for cyclists. From Waldkirch up to the Kandel, almost 1,000 vertical meters have to be mastered on a 12 km route. The asphalt quality is moderate (as of June 2020).
