Small correction, this place is called Lipple and not Kipple.

The Lipple is a pass crossing (893 m above sea level) between Wies and Marzell. The Lipple is not only a popular route for motorcyclists and cyclists, there is also a large network of hiking trails and, in winter, a 55 km network of trails.

Pass crossing from Badenweiler to Kandertal. Currently (04/2021) it is better to choose the north side as the driveway, the asphalt has a pretty vintage character ...

The climb to the Sirnitz Pass from Badenweiler or Schweighof is highly recommended – the elevation gain of a good 700 meters is considerable, but the gradient is pleasant and even. The upper section, passing rugged rock faces and then the idyllic, open meadow valley near the Sirnitz farms, is truly wonderful. Overall, it's one of the most beautiful Black Forest passes. As of March 2025, the route is almost perfectly paved – perfect terrain for a wonderful downhill experience!

Meanwhile, the road is in good condition, unfortunately now also very busy on the WE. Still a beautiful pass followed by a rushing descent with a wonderful view of the Black Forest.
