Natural path along the Elbe, but there is currently little to see of the beavers' activities

Lots of real beaver tracks, such as felled trees, can be discovered on the banks along the path. Regularly flooded alluvial forests in the riverbank areas are the habitat of the beavers, who feel at home here again.

Since I come from the south of the country, two things surprised me. Firstly, that the Elbe has a high, steep bank and secondly, that it is so wildly overgrown. If you didn't know that you were on the Elbe, you might think you were in a low mountain range🤷🏻‍♂️

The Elbe cycle path leads along here with a few meters of altitude. It is unpaved and very winding, so you might have to push it at times.

Nice route but really exhausting when it's windy 😅

Here you can admire the results of the work of the beavers everywhere.

In order to find the beaver lodge you should keep an eye on the shore very carefully. Be sure to use a telephoto lens to keep your distance. PURE NATURE!
