Shelter, ideal for a short break.

The Elbe High Trail is a pleasure trail for both hikers and cyclists. This shelter protects against unexpected bad weather

Since I come from the south of the country, two things surprised me. Firstly, that the Elbe has a high, steep bank and secondly, that it is so wildly overgrown. If you didn't know that you were on the Elbe, you might think you were in a low mountain range🤷🏻‍♂️

The hiking trail "Hohes Elbufer" (W30) also runs along here, which I can highly recommend at this point. The Elbe cycle path leads along here with a few meters of altitude. It is unpaved and very winding, so you might have to push it at times.

The refuge is particularly useful when you are out and about there and are surprised by the weather.

Nice route but really exhausting when it's windy 😅
