Only the SUVs of the Kaiserstuhl residents, the motorcycle riders, and the village youth on mopeds are faster than the cyclists. But when the traffic is quieter, it's fun. It's nicer to head out of the Kaiserstuhl, towards Bötzingen, than the descent.

The descent in the direction of Bötzingen is one of the few routes in a wide area on which you can reach speeds of more than 80 kilometers per hour relatively safely and this is also justifiable from the safety point of view. Although the Black Forest offers many roads with a higher gradient, these are often narrower and, above all, more curvy.

Nice climb from Oberbergen, however there is always a risk of being cut by motorists on weekends. Sometimes it pays to block the trail 🤷♂️

The actual name of the "Texas Pass" is of Alemannic origin and is "Auf dem Eck", whereby participants of the "Rothaus-Regio-Tour" gave the pass its name (https://www.schwarzwald-aktuell.eu/gschichtle/g- schichtle-89-the-texaspass-im-kaiserstuhl). The view over the picturesque vineyard terraces is a delight in every season.

A classic in the Kaiserstuhl and offers a gateway to the heart of the Kaiserstuhl coming from the eastern side. At the top, it is best to turn briefly into the parking lot and enjoy the view over Freiburg and the Black Forest mountains in the background from the barbecue area.

Alongside the Vogelsangpass, the serpentines are probably the most famous ascent around Kaiserstuhl. In terms of nature experience, they are even significantly higher.
