On the northern shore of the Hochgräntensee (2534 m) is the highest war cemetery in Central Europe.

A short but nice climb. It zigzags up over roots and stones. Once you reach the first platform, if the wind is right, you can stand in the spray of the waterfall and cool off. Then you continue up to the hut via another platform.

Very demanding via the D via ferrata from Kartitsch.

Just a short walk from the hut. Worth it if the visibility is good 👀.

I conquered it once using the via ferrata, which was very demanding, and once I hiked it, it was also very strenuous, but at the summit you will be rewarded with a wonderful European cross and great distant views.
