비더마이어 시대부터 이미 Karolinenstadttor 앞의 Wasserglacis는 인기 있는 오락 장소였습니다. 비엔나 성벽 철거로 인한 비엔나 링슈트라세로의 재개발 과정에서 당시 비엔나 시장 Andreas Zelinka는 이 지역에 공공 공원을 조성하는 프로젝트를 지원했습니다. 1860년 9월, 도시 확장 기금은 슈타트파르크 조성을 위해 94,000m²의 면적을 비엔나 시에 무상으로 제공했습니다. 1861년에는 빈 강 우안에 51,000m²가 추가되었습니다. 좌안 공원 조성 비용은 115,000굴덴으로 추산되었으나, 실제 1862년에는 180,000굴덴(약 160만 유로)이 소요되었습니다.

Always interesting to come by here. The house in the middle of the forest, a meadow to romp around and lots of benches to rest. And of course, off to the Roan Trail, which starts right here.
