Easy walk if you from the Station Inn but a lot steeper coming the other way. Great views over Kendal and out into Morecambe Bay .

Beautiful spot to run to with a rewarding view from the top.

Cunswick Scar is a great little hill with some fab views over Kendal and the South Lakes. Marked with a huge cairn. Great access from her to Scout Scar and lots of loops for running / hiking.

The shelter at the top of Scout Scar is locally known as "The Mushroom". It was built in 1912 as a memorial to King George V. The structure includes a toposcope indicating the Central Fells and other landmarks.

The centre pole on the Mushroom lines up with the map on the inside so you know what you’re looking at in the surrounding area! So cool!

Take in the views across the Howgills. The Calf, at 676m (2218ft), is the highest top in the Howgill Fells. A twenty-mile skyline of the Lakeland peaks can be seen from the peak on a clear day. The Howgills were famously described by A.Wainwright - the famous walker and guidebook writer - as a 'herd of sleeping elephants'. An apt description of their steep rounded flanks.

At 1,400 feet (427 m), Brunt Knott is the highest point of a wild tangle of grey rock, grass, hillocks and heather known as Potter Fell, which includes the subsidiary summit of Ulgraves and two other nameless summits. Alfred Wainwright included Potter Fell in his Outlying Fells of Lakeland guidebook, with his suggested route visiting all four summits. From Brunt Knott's trig pillar, you get a stupendous view of the Kentmere Horseshoe to the north.
