The Brouwersdam is one of the hotspots in Zeeland. The 6.5 kilometer long dam is the connection between the islands of Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland. With the Grevelingen on one side and the North Sea on the other, the Brouwersdam is extremely suitable for water sports and relaxation.

The historic landmark on the banks of the Oosterschelde knows how to sell its history to passers-by every day. The Plompe Toren is free to climb and more than worth it. At the top you have a beautiful view of the spacious surroundings and the pleasure craft. In the distance you often see seals lying on the sandbank. The tower is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the summer. In winter, the tower closes at 5 PM.

Oosterschelde National Park is openly connected to the North Sea via the storm surge barrier. Twice a day, 800 billion litres of salt water flows in and out of the area. The mudflats and sandbanks that are submerged at high tide, dry up again at low tide. The Oosterschelde is a unique area because of this tidal nature: a dynamic world.

The caissons that lie in the water here were reserves for dyke repair after the flood and for the Delta Works. In the foreground you can see the bird island of Heertje. In the spring several terns and plovers come here to breed. Don't forget your binoculars.

This viewpoint on the corner of a caisson that protrudes above the sea wall shows the traces of the Flood. At the bottom of the tower, panels tell the story of the disaster in 1953. At the top, the striking points are indicated. Definitely worth stopping here and informing yourself.

A tough climb with a gradient of 25% to reach the highest dune on Schouwen Noordstrand. Perhaps a challenge for cycling enthusiasts, but unfortunately for your safety you are not allowed to conquer this slope by bike. The reason: the path is full of drifting sand and creates unsafe situations. No matter how big the challenge, know that you are not alone here. You have to share this path with other users. Courtesy is appropriate here. Enjoy a highlight together with a panoramic view of Schouwen Noordstrand. Wonderful, sometimes it doesn't have to be more.
