Up here on the Hirnberg, flocks of countless starlings and rooks compete with each other. The crows are known to us as winter guests and often signal a cold snap. The starlings, on the other hand, have only been avoiding the migration south for a few years. When they attacked my bird feeders, I had to google them to identify them.
