This giant sequoia is one of the largest and oldest sequoias in Europe, with a height of 40 meters and a circumference of 11 meters. It was planted in 1866 by a German forester named Wilhelm Seltzam, who brought seeds from California.

Beautiful passage along the German-French border. Traces of the trenches from World War II can still be seen. The forests were simply completely replanted after the war. This is recognizable by the many trees standing in a row.

On great paths you get to a grandiose vantage point and the large boulder with the beautiful hammered edelweiss has given the place its name. There is also a bench, if you used the hiking trail to climb up, you need it 😀
