Between the municipalities of Esch-sur-Alzette, Kayl and Schifflange, the "Brucherbierg-Lallengerbierg" nature reserve extends over around 267 hectares. After the cessation of mining, which was located on this site, the area resembled a lunar landscape with bright red soil: no vegetation, a barren, dry area. Little by little, nature has reclaimed its space. The rocky ground has again grown over with dry grassland, bats have settled there and now you can admire over 500 species of butterflies amidst orchids.
