There are many remarkable rock formations, it is wonderfully shady and you are often alone.

Beautiful path through a picturesque gorge. Well signposted, a little slippery at times when it has rained.

The Isteiner Klotz is a prominent mountain ridge in the district of Lörrach in the extreme south-west of Germany. The Isteiner Klotz is a promontory between the villages of Istein and Kleinkems, which rises about 150 meters above the Rheinauen. At the western end at Istein the ridge forms a steep cliff. The Vitus chapel, which was built around the year 1100, is located in a rock niche.
