The only hot springs in England discovered by the Romans. Very good audio guide with top restorations, but the highlight is the bathroom itself, very impressive to walk around on such old stones. It's easy to imagine how people used to enjoy the thermal water back then.

Found in Bath city centre, the Roman Baths are an impressive example of Roman life. Used for public bathing during Roman reign in Britain, the baths are composed of a Sacred Spring, Roman Temple and bath house. The baths were gradually built from 60-70AD atop of natural spring water from the Mendip Hills that bubbles beneath bath. Today, you can visit the baths and its museum. But don't expect to go for a dip, as you cannot go in the water. The baths are open from 9am-5pm. This is one of the Squeeze entrances into the old mine. It is a place of environmental interest as it is home to some endangered species of bats. Entrance into the mine is not advised unless as part of a supervised excursion.

This park opened in 1830 by Queen Victoria stretches over 57 acres and includes the botanical gardens, play areas, bandstands, monuments, bowling greens, crazy golf, duck ponds, tennis courts, skateboard park , bbq areas and wild meadows. Just in itself, this could become quite an adventure exploring.

This is the very reason that this city is called Bath. If you have not been to the Roman Baths, then you cant call your trip to Bath complete. There is a lot to see when visiting the Roman Baths and will take you a good few hours if you follow the interactive tour. The museum itself incorporates the main pool and many side rooms and pools that stretch under the pump room and road as the level of the original complex is much lower than the current city. It is well worth a visit. Just note that it is a museum so you wont be able to swim.

Don't bother with the Stroud - Nailsworth Cycle path if you're in a hurry/heavily laden. It's really only suited to leisure cycling rather than touring/commuting. There's a very poorly designed part of the track, where you have to dismount and wheel your bike down/up a steep gutter, whilst trying to remain vertical on the steep steps. There are also several parts of the track, (which is also shared with pedestrians/dog walkers) which are very narrow, the surfacing is also pretty rough in places and there are also parts of the trail which are very poorly drained too.) The alternative route (along the A46) isn't great either, (with motorised traffic being generally quite high, and disrespectful when overtaking), although it is a lot more expedient... Don't attempt to cycle along this path after dark, either. There's virtually no additional lighting, and several parts where there are some significant troughs which could well take one by surprise.
