Nice pass that connects the Eisack Valley with the Val Gardena. From here on, the signs on the Val Gardena side are in three languages: Italian, German and Ladin. The climb from Castelrotto is relaxed at 5 - 7%, with some steeper sections towards Val Gardena.

If you hike from Dornholzer See up to Tellerjoch, you have the opportunity to climb the Jakobspitze summit (2742m). The path, more demanding, runs along the west ridge, often over boulders (be careful, slippery) to the summit cross of the Jacobspitze and on the descent to the Marburger Hut. It is also possible to descend immediately from Tellerjoch and continue hiking directly to the Marburger Hut.
