The Marmarico waterfall is the highest waterfall in the southern Apennines (with an overall height of 114 metres) and can be reached from both Bivogni and Ferdinandea.
Between Serra San Bruno and Mongiana you drive through dense, mystical forest. In summer, the shade provides a welcome cooling, because the climbs are sometimes very strenuous.
The Laghetto del Sambuco, also known as the Mongiana lake, is an oasis of tranquility located in the Cropani-Micone Biogenetic Nature Reserve. It offers a well-equipped picnic area and various fountains.
