The mountain stage and at the same time one of the most beautiful of the day now lies ahead of me over six hilly kilometers. The wooded slopes of the Katzenstein take me in; the winter forest swallows me, I don't meet a soul in the next two hours. I leave the castle and town of Blankenstein unnoticed to the south; Lunch break is on a snow-covered bench (thanks for the new mats.) with a view of the Kemnade; A favorite place, especially when there are no people like today, is the Belvedere viewing platform with the always impressive views of the wide Ruhr Valley.
