"The Hohensyburg-Klusenberg nature reserve encompasses three sections of the wooded, south-facing Ruhr Valley slope above Lake Hengstey, featuring rocky outcrops and diverse, extensive stands of low-growing trees. Klusenberg, Syberg (also known as Burgberg), and Bölsberg, three hills on the northern edge of the Hagen Ruhr Valley, drop steeply to the dammed Hengsteysee. Over a short distance, differences in elevation of approximately 160 meters are reached. The hard sandstone outcrops in the form of extensive rock bands, cliff edges, and individual rock formations. The highest rocks reach a maximum height of 10 meters. In a few places, individual rocks protrude from the canopy of the adjacent low-growing mixed deciduous forests. ..." A nice little winding singletrack trail that comes out onto the forest road above the war memorial. I'd say it's a good S1 trail. Winding, quite flowy, and a bit rougher at the end.

A beautiful path along the relatively steep slope with a lovely view of the Hengsteysee lake.

From the top of the path, there is a good overview of the enclosure.

The Hammerteich pond is a beautiful spot for a picnic any time of year. There's a lovely playground for children, and you can watch herons, cormorants, and ducks. Currently, it's an interesting place because the city of Witten is removing the pond's heavy siltation. First, all the fish were removed and relocated to other bodies of water. Now, the pond is being pumped out.

The Hammerteich was created in 1722 by damming the Borbach (then Borbecke) stream. Today, it is a popular recreational area in Witten.
