The Kohlberg (632 m above sea level) south of Arzberg is also called the Sugarloaf. The 32 m high Waldenfelswarte observation tower offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Binoculars and panoramic overviews that can be used free of charge help with orientation. The Waldenfelswarte is the highest observation tower in the Fichtel Mountains.

Nice rest area (last 100m not paved, but easy to drive)

In 1961, the 21 meter high Waldenfelswarte observation tower was erected on the Kohlberg by the local Arzberg Fichtelgebirge association. It was named after Ernst Freiherr von Waldenfels, who provided 900 square meters of land for the construction. In 2017, the tower was raised another 12 meters to 33 meters. This makes it the highest lookout tower in the Fichtelgebirge Association.

The fly agaric pavilion can be found on a hill on the western outskirts of Leuthenforst. The striking little house under the large maple is considered the landmark of the district, it was built after the war by a returnee. From here there is a wonderful view of the Fichtelgebirge. For a number of years, marriages have also been able to take place at this special location.

This shelter is marked on numerous maps. I was simply curious to find out what was behind it: It is a roofed hut, very lovingly designed. There are benches and tables, both covered and outdoors. Opportunities to stoke a campfire and a very special swing over the pond. It is made of old pallets. "PC-Stadelheim" is a very special hut.

An absolutely worthwhile goal. Once you have completed the approximately 170 steps, you will have a fantastic view. Thanks to the observation telescope, which is attached at the top and can be used free of charge. Ochsenkopf, Schneeberg, Kappl, the visibility extends as far as the Czech Republic when the weather is clear.
