The Statte Valley Stream (French: ruisseau de la Statte) is a small but characteristic river/mountain stream in the Ardennes, located in the province of Liège (Wallonia, Belgium). It flows through the beautiful Hautes-Fagnes-Eifel Nature Park, a protected nature reserve known for its forests, heathlands, fens, valleys, and streams. The Statte is a natural stream, approximately 6 km long, that originates near the Haie Henquinet, south of the Hautes Fagnes high moor, and flows downstream through forests and meadows. Along its course, you'll see typical Ardennes landscapes: shady woodlands, rock formations, and small riverbanks. It's ideal for those who enjoy tranquility, nature, and hiking. The Statte ultimately flows into the Hoëgne River near the hamlet of Parfondbois in the municipality of Jalhay (province of Liège). The Statte Valley offers beautiful hiking opportunities and is often included in longer circular walks through the nature park. There are routes that take you along the Statte as part of larger hikes through the river landscapes of the Hautes Fagnes-Eifel, such as combination routes with the Hoëgne and Sawe valleys. Popular hikes start at the Vallée de la Statte car park (a rustic parking lot on the edge of the nature park). From here, you can take various loop routes through the valley, and wooded paths, waterways, and tranquil nature await you. At the confluence of the Statte and the Hoëgne, the stream is a beautiful spot for photos and a coffee break in nature. The nature park itself is the largest nature reserve in Belgium and a mix of raised bogs, forests, valleys, and waterways that together create one of the most authentic Ardennes experiences. Hiking in the Statte valley is a perfect way to discover the quiet, mysterious side of this nature park, and why many hikers include these routes in their Ardennes adventure.

This cave is located on the left bank of the Ruisseau de Villers (La Pancherelle) and is located a little higher up along the hiking trail, in the forests of Saint-Jacques. The "nuton" (or lûton, nûton, gnome in Dutch) is a small creature from the folklore and popular beliefs of the French and Belgian Ardennes. The nuton has the same origins as the gnome, but according to local folklore, caves, caverns and underground passages make up most of its habitat, much like the dwarves of the Germanic world.

A pristine stream valley in a fantastic landscape. Nature lovers will get their money's worth here.

A very beautiful valley reminiscent of the Ninglinspo and especially Chefna torrents, with the mighty blocks of quartzite in the Sawe riverbed. A previously little frequented valley with great paths.
