The large meadow with a playground and a few benches is certainly the most pleasant place to spend time at the Oberpfuhl and in the Lychen town area. Boats can dock, and you could even go on a boat tour yourself, but unfortunately, there's no suitable swimming spot. No water treading either. - Still. It's absolutely idyllic here, not least because of the beautiful tall trees and the peninsula-like shape of the area.

The Schäferwiese in Lychen is the town's largest playground and is located directly on the shore of Lake Oberpfuhl, near the Templiner Tor (Templiner Gate). The Schäferwiese is a central point for water sports activities, as it serves as the portage point for canoes and rafts that must be transported across the road from higher-lying lakes like Lake Oberpfuhl to the lower-lying Stadtsee (city lake).

Here you will find a nice big rest area and playground.

Large, well-kept lawn with seating and a portable toilet; next to the jetty is a perfect channel for pulling a canoe ashore or paddling.

From here you have a wonderful view of Lychen and the water on both sides - i.e. Oberpfuhl and the city lake.
