The walk up to this point is through moorland and meadows. The castle itself is definitely worth a visit. We've already had a personal tour of the museum here, as we were the only visitors.

The fashion museum in Meyenburg Castle is a little insider tip! A great collection that goes back to the private collection of Josefine Edle von Krepl and lets you immerse yourself in women's fashion from around 1900 to the 1980s. The collector still leads tours of her collection herself!

Several friends raved about the fashion museum in Meyenburg Castle. During our visit, we were amazed at how many dresses from different periods from 1900 onwards are on display there. It is the former private collection of Josephine Edle von Krepl, a fashion designer from the former GDR, who ran the museum herself from its founding until her 74th birthday. Only about 10% of the collection is shown in the exhibition. We also liked the historical classification and the completion with photos and accessories from the time. We really liked it. Admission 8 euros, photo permission 2 euros. There is also a cute, authentic café with collectible crockery and a registry office in the castle.

The museum is a wonder. It is based almost entirely on the work of many volunteers.

A beautiful castle park, located on the Stepenitz, with bridges and benches to linger

Meyenburg Castle in the country town of Meyenburg in der Prignitz is a former aristocratic residence of the von Rohr family, which is now primarily used as a fashion museum. From the 14th century, Meyenburg Castle was property of the noble von Rohr family throughout, beginning around 1367 with Klaus von Rohr and further confirmed by his great-grandson Hans von Rohr in 1424. Soon a separate Meyenburg family line was formed, which passed on the estate. The property lasted until 1945, when it belonged to the von Rohr family, or rather the von Rohr-Wahlen-Jürgaß family, which, due to their wealth, was one of the dominant families in the Prignitz. Contrary to popular usage, it is not a castle in the narrower sense, but a palatial manor house that is complex for the region. The two-storey brick building consists of two wings and has the shape of an L. The building structure includes parts of the medieval town fortifications of Meyenburg and dates from the 15th century, the rest dates back to buildings from the 16th century. The refurbishment and repairs in the years 1996-2002 restored the condition of 1866. The castle is now used as a fashion museum, castle museum and public library. The castle and the castle park are listed monuments. Today's park goes back to a plant by the Berlin court gardener Fink in 1868, which over the years has become very wild and was restored in 1997. The park is bordered on the east by the Stepenitz. Until the land reform, Meyenburg Castle was a classic manor house with a manor. The Fashion Museum Schloss Meyenburg shows parts of the most comprehensive European fashion collection of 20th century clothing fashion from 1900 to 1970, which was put together by the East Berlin collector Josefine Edle von Krepl. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Meyenburg
