Today the castle ensemble belongs to the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is used by, among others, an art association and the State Office for Monument Preservation.

Riding bicycles in the castle gardens is prohibited. Even pushing bicycles is prohibited there. You can park your bikes at the bus stop. Or at the cafe. Why someone here is copying and pasting 8 times and thus posting 8 tips is anyone's guess.

The orangery is a two-winged building, the roof serves as a terrace, it is located in the axis of the main tower of the castle and is open to the sea. The inner courtyard is planted, to the southeast there is an arcade and the statue of Hercules taming a bull in the middle of the arcade. The palm garden and shell fountain, several accessible roof terraces and the sea grotto are part of the orangery.

Fleesensee Castle is a manor house that was built in the neo-baroque style with over 100 rooms and a ballroom. A manor house stood here before it was built in 1910, but it was destroyed by fire. The new building was sold in 1934 and is then used for different purposes. In 1997 the manor house was completely renovated and has been used as a hotel ever since. In addition to the almost 180 hotel rooms and suites, there are also conference facilities, a restaurant and golf and wellness offers.

Beautiful island with castle and castle park. A visit is highly recommended. The "Alte Schlossbrauerei" is located on the castle island. Here you can stop and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful property with a small market in the yard. However, to get there, a bridge toll of 2 euros per person has to be paid. You would get the bridge duty charged when you eat it, but that took too long for us
