"...We now follow the Moselsteig and walk through the forest again (this time on wider paths). In between we get a few opportunities to enjoy a wonderful view of Eltz Castle. We continue along forest paths until we reach the former forester's house Rotherhof. There are no places to stop here, but at least tree trunks lying by the side of the path offer us a place to sit. When the hiker reaches this farm on the Moselsteig path towards the mouth of Koblenz on the stage from Treis-Karden to Moselkern, Eltz Castle is not yet in sight, but a large part of this high point of the tour has been made. Now it goes downhill along forest paths, at first leisurely, later steeper. When the flow of tourists increases, Burg Eltz gets closer :-)

A little above the bridge mill there is a wonderful little rest area at the "Hauerhütte" with a view over the wooded valley.

Very nice little booth to sit down, look out and possibly drink wine.

A lovingly furnished hut that invites you to linger. If everyone left a place as they would like to find it, there would surely be many more of those places
