A nice vantage point. Unfortunately, the junction is not signposted. Status 7.2023. The few meters from the Roman path are definitely worth it!

Föhren Castle dates back to the 14th century and was last rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1663. The castle complex includes the tithe barn that has been converted and restored into an event space, the actual main building, in whose large hall the registry office is located, and the outbuilding that has been converted into a holiday apartment. I would be happy to recommend the ascent to Ramstein Castle and a visit to the beer garden! By the way, the hiking trail goes right through the small beer garden! From the Butzerbachtal, a shortcut path was made not so long ago with a fairly new bridge. In the past, the castle ruins could easily be visited. Presumably because of Corona, however, this is currently (May 2021) blocked.

You can see the castle ruins from afar when you are on the way to the start of the hike. The castle is currently closed: COVID-19
