A mighty rock arch forms the auditorium of the Ruin Theater, built in 1747. The orchestra pit, the backdrop arches, and the back wall are made of rubble stone. The 86-seat mini-theater is used by the Bayreuth Studio Stage for performances in July and August. The ambiance of this small Rococo theater transports the audience to the world of the 18th century.

Because of its wild and romantic appearance, the Teufelsloch became a tourist destination in the 19th century. Richard Wagner also visited here often and stopped off at the Waldhütte. In the second half of the 19th century, the two-arched sandstone bridge was finally built, spanning the deep gorge and allowing access from Oberwaiz to the Waldhütte restaurant. The Teufelsloch has been a nature reserve since 1941.

Narrow path along the rock formation, a steel cable is attached to somewhat "more difficult" passages, but generally accessible by "everyone". The view along the rock is overgrown, but the safety ropes give you the feeling of a little adventure.

The name refers to a Greek forest and pasture god. The rocky outcrop was probably only named after this horned deity in the 19th century.
