It is the bird refuge of the Wenigumstadt Nature and Bird Protection Association, without a door, so that it offers everyone protection from wind and weather. This refuge was built in 1969 by the Wenigumstadt nature and bird protection association at an altitude of 261 m above sea level. For decades, the NuVSchV has been organizing its legendary meat sausage meal on December 28th. The proceeds are used to buy fields to expand the biotope on the Ried north of the Welzbach.

The café is beautifully situated at an old place of pilgrimage and devotion. It is run by the Rapp family (see also Cafe Rapp Seligenstadt). There are super delicious cakes and also hearty little things. Opening hours forest hut: Monday and Tuesday rest day Wednesday to Saturday 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., open throughout the year
