The most important bird species living in the Pohnsdorf dam are shown in the bird observation hut. In the log book you can record your personal observations for other ornithologists.

The small detour to the bird watching hut at the Pohnsdorfer Stauung is worthwhile. The Pohnsdorf dam is a wetland area of around 100 hectares. It is located in the protected landscape area No. 19 Postsee-Neuwuehrener Au-Klosterforst Preetz and the surrounding area. Not only many bird species have found their home here, but it is also an important spawning ground for amphibians. Today we met an ornithologist with his huge telescope.
