Rabenstein Castle ruins rise atop a roughly 495-meter-high hill overlooking the village of Rabenstein on the Pielach River, offering a breathtaking view of the Pielach Valley. From below, the ruins stand out prominently on the wooded hill, their remaining walls and tower remnants still testifying to the former strength of the complex. The castle was likely built at the beginning of the 12th century, and it was first documented in 1136 with a "Wilhelm von Raminstein." It served to control and secure the upper Pielach Valley and the trade routes that ran through it. Over the centuries, the complex fell into disrepair and eventually became a ruin. Since 1989, a local association has been working to preserve and protect the remains, which today serve as a historical landmark and a popular viewpoint.

The castle ruins date back to the Middle Ages and originally served as a protective and residential castle. Rabenstein an der Pielach is easily accessible via the B39. Parking is available at the fire station and the train station. It is also possible to get there by public transport, as Rabenstein an der Pielach train station serves as the starting point for several hiking trails.

Kreisbach Castle dates back to its founding at the end of the 12th century. After an eventful history, the cultural association has been striving for revitalization since 1999. Visitors can already take a tour of the castle and see the exemplary renovated high baroque St. Anne's Chapel, a Gothic passage and a Romanesque cellar.
