17.11.2018 - The castle ruin can be explored directly on several routes. Optionally via a challenging forest path or comfortably on the forest road. After about 30 minutes on top, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the garden of the Prealps at 495 m above sea level. The Rabensteiner landmark is often a welcome intermediate rest on trail no. 6 to Josef-Franz-Hütte on Geisbühel 849 m.

The Rabenstein ruins were built in the 12th century. built. Around 700 eventful years passed almost without a trace on the once mighty castle before it fell into disrepair at an ever faster rate. The end seemed inevitable, but in 1998 a committee was formed to save the ruins. Today we are working diligently on the preservation.

A worthwhile hiking destination! Since the castle ruins are almost invisible from the center, we were surprised by their beauty. The fortress has been here since the beginning of the 12th century. In the 1990s it was lovingly renovated, secured and paths were laid out.
