The original hut was destroyed by an avalanche/mudslide. A simple shelter was built on the opposite side.

Shelter is perhaps the wrong term, as you cannot spend the night in it... enclosed room with cooking facilities and toilets... ideal if you are staying at the campsite next door

Kiwi sighting around 11PM on the waterfall track. Few glowworms as well. Definitely worth a late night tour.

Huge mountain cabin with 80 beds 🙈 but perfectly located... there's even a grill

Nice cabin. Unfortunately, due to its proximity to Spiegeltarn, it is often fully booked. You can only book them online in advance.

The parking lot fills up relatively quickly... during the day there are still numerous cars parked on the side of the road
