Magnificent river with roaring waterfalls

Cascada da Bernina waterfall trail The Cascada da Bernina waterfall trail The waterfall trail is a short but extremely worthwhile adventure hike along the Cascada da Bernina. In just 600 meters, it overcomes a total of 85 meters in altitude. This makes the nature all the more magnificent along the Ova da Bernina mountain stream, which rushes down into the valley over several cascades. The entrance is at the Morteratsch RhB station in the direction of the car park. From three viewing platforms you can watch the torrent make its way through the pristine mountain forest. Sometimes it falls foaming over rocks, sometimes it builds up to form natural whirlpools. On the first viewing platform, a railway viaduct on the Bernina line is at the center. On the other two platforms you can learn exciting things about hydropower and wine transport. From Alpe Flora, a beautiful mountain pasture at 2300 metres, in summer you can admire the waterfalls originating from the melting of the Malenco glacier.

Entertaining climbing, but sometimes quite demanding, when climbing with children, the holds for the shorter arms are sometimes far apart.

A beautiful green plateau at about 2300 meters where you can admire one of the most evocative panoramas of Valtellina. On the left stands Pizzo Tremoggia with its beautiful summer waterfalls, while on the right a body of water reflects the peaks of Monte Disgrazia (3678 m). A panorama that repays the effort.
